John James Audubon,

"In 1905 the National Audubon Society was incorporated and named in his honor. Its mission "is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth's biological diversity." In his journals, Audubon prophetically warned of dangers that threatened the enormous flocks of his time, including over-hunting and loss of habitat."

Notes:
1. Prophetically is an amazing word.
2. New goal, to get back to painting. I'd like to paint large animals in the Realist style, similar to Fox and Goose above. Which BTW, is a little disturbing to me, the killing of Goose hits too close to home.
